Poona1 Happy Books

  Welcome to the Rajneesh/Osho Poona 1
Library & Bookstore of the StarWheel Foundation.

We specialize in the "Poona 1" period
of the Rajneesh/Osho ashram:
1st edition, hardback, collectible books
;
all beautiful, historical documents
showing archival pictures of the ashram life;
all protected by a mylar sleeve;
all filled with spirit shakti and celebration energy.

This is another way of raising funds to support

the educational projects of the StarWheel Foundation.

(See our Fundraising Page)

Note: we also have a few Osho books published
by Rebel/Germany (all hardcover). See bottom of page.

Over the years, Aya has assembled a large library of books & documents on Mandalas, Sacred Geometry, Harmonics and related topics. This library is a legacy to the future Bliss Bless Blossom international eco-campus envisioned as a Garden of Creative Learning for the new generations.

Aya has also assembled, as a spiritual reference library for the BBB School, an extensive collection of the beautiful books published by the Rajneesh Foundation. We have for sale quite a few duplicate copies of these titles, lovingly created during the period known as "Poona 1" (1974 through 1981), when the Rajneesh community-ashram attracted seekers from all over the world.

Every morning, Rajneesh would deliver spontaneous discourses explaining mystics from all traditions, answering questions with his unique depth of spiritual wisdom and sharing the overall awareness of his "Buddha Field", the state of enlightened consciousness he blossomed into at the age of 21. Every evening, Rajneesh would invite a few people to share intimate conversations with him, to take the initiation of sannyas and to receive shakti transmissions.

The discourses in english language, recorded and published, are known as "Poona 1" original publications. (Note: there also were alternate week lectures in Hindi - also recorded but most of them un-translated and unpublished in English yet.) We offer for sale quite a few of these rare-to-find, hardback with cloth binding, first edition English language books. These are items delighting book-lovers because they carry, in their book-making techniques, their feel to hold & browse, their archival pictures and the power of Rajneesh's words, an extraordinary beauty and ability to transform the readers and holders. They definitely are sacred tools of awakening. Aya feels that it is essential to preserve and pass on to the new generations the treasures of this mystical encyclopedia. It contains the foundations of the global wisdom of humanity for the 21st century.

Published in original editions of 5,000 copies (mostly 1,000 hardback & 4,000 softback), these books are now becoming rare collectibles - all the way more as Rajneesh (later known as Osho) is gaining global recognition as a spiritual giant of the 20th century and a cosmic mentor for humanity awakening to its higher evolution. Many editions of the 600+ Osho books are now published in all languages. Yet the original Poona 1 books have a unique savor and fragrance that make the soul "smile and dance".

The evening darshans were recorded and (for the most part) published. They are known as the Darshan Diaries. Some are regular format (8.5 x 6 inches) thick books and some are A4 size (8.5 x 11 inches) or "coffee table" size. All the Darshan Diaries are treasure troves of historical images showing the activities and faces of ashram life as well as vivid interactions between Rajneesh and a great variety of seekers. All the Darshan Diaries take the reader/browser into a magical world of group spiritual energy: they play music on the spirit chords of the soul and cater to the deep human hunger for the infinite.

For reference, the "Poona 1" books (published by the Rajneesh Foundation under the name of Ma Yoga Laxmi) are listed below by categories and also with cover images and technical descriptions. We offer some of the titles for sale as "Poona 1 Happy Books": they are companions and lovers deeply cherished by their owners or users. Some are brand new, most are in "Very Good" condition and a few are lovely used - but all are unmarked and with good binding and, as due to collectibles, protected by a mylar sleeve.

These Poona 1 books are an unforgettable experience for anyone because one is newly activated and suddenly in-spired while partaking of them... All life starts to make sense. They are a presence, your presence, hiding under book covers.

Come follow Me [Jesus]. 1976 - 1977. 4 volumes set. (S4).

Osho makes a clear distinction between the rebel called Jesus Christ and the religion that followed after him - Christianity. Through the gospels of Matthew, Luke and John he reintroduces Jesus as a man, a mystic and an uncompromising master filled with love, fire and compassion.
A treat for those in love with Jesus' words.

Yoga, the Alpha and the Omega [Yoga Sutras of Patanjali]. 1976 - 1978. 10 volumes set. (S5). Series of discourses on the 'Yoga Sutras' of Patanjali. The Yoga Sūtras (compiled around 400 CE by Patañjali) are 196 Indian sūtras (aphorisms) that constitute the foundational text of Ashtanga Yoga (or Raja Yoga). For Osho all the techniques of Yoga have really one focus: the no-mind and ultimate silence. "Patanjali is our future, 5000 years old".

Tao, The Three Treasures [Tao - Lao Tzu]. 1976 - 1977. 4 volumes set. (S6).

Osho recounts how Lao Tzu, at the age of 90, was leaving for the Himalayas to spend his final days. At the border a guard (who was also his disciple) imprisoned the mystic and refused to release him until he wrote down something of what he had come to know. That is how this unique text, the Tao Te Ching, was born. Osho comments on this classic text from his uniquely fresh perspective.
Osho's affinity with this ancient Chinese mystic is such that he says when he speaks on Lao Tzu he is speaking as if on himself.

The Discipline of Transcendence [Buddha]. 1978. 4 volumes set. (S7).

Two thousand five hundred years have passed since Buddha delivered the 42 sutras on which this series is based. Using modern idiom, Osho extracts the kernel of Buddha's profound insight and understanding and presents his everlasting message to the contemporary reader.
 Osho sees in Buddha's teachings a unique and mature religion, which is uncompromising in its insistence on awareness as the basis of spiritual evolution.
 Volume 2 features the intriguing story of Osho's own enlightenment in 1953.

Zen, The Path of Paradox [Zen]. 1978 - 1979. 3 volumes set. (S8).

Day and night, summer and winter, life and death... nature itself is paradox and Zen the simple mirror reflection of life. Remain choice-less, says Osho, and you will remain true. Relax and let go into the way things really are. Enlightenment is finding that there is nothing to find.
The man of Zen has utter respect for himself; he does not believe in outer disciplines, rules and regulations; he trusts the inner - a trust that comes out of meditation - "and trust makes nature divine."

The Tantra Vision [Saraha]. 1978. 2 volumes set. (S9).

An absorbing book about the relationship between Saraha, an affluent young Brahmin, and a lower-cast arrowsmith woman - he as disciple, and she as his Tantric master. In Osho's understanding Tantra is one of the greatest of man's visions, a religion which respects rather than destroys individuality.
Alternately speaking on the sutras of Saraha and answering seekers' questions, Osho describes what he calls the "Tantra map of inner consciousness," including the "four seals" or locks that open as couples move higher in meditation.

Jokes...paradox...parables...wisdom....absurdity...all to shake the reader out of his intellect and into the innocence of the mystic. Osho distills the essence of Sufism for the contemporary man, not to inform the reader about the state of mysticism but to create the situation in which we discover the mystic within ourselves.

 Unio Mystica [Sufis - Hakim Sanai]. 1980 - 1981. 2 volumes set. (S11).
Osho says that if he were to select only two books from the whole world, The Hadiqa: The Walled Garden of Truth, on the 12th-century Persian Hakim Sanai, would be one of them. Hadiqa is the essence of the path of love. Hakim Sanai was the prime minister of a powerful king who dropped everything to walk the path of love.

The Wisdom of the Sands [Sufis]. 1980. 2 volumes set. (S12).

Osho describes one of the stories within this collection ("Mojud: The Man With the Inexplicable Life ") as belonging to the "very foundation of religious consciousness." Deceptively simple, these Sufi tales have a deeper, underlying significance, and Osho makes it manifest for all to see. These stories are not for those who want entertainment, he shows us, but for those who seek illumination.
"Allow yourself to be absorbed in the wind."

Osho declares that if the Greek mathematician and mystic Pythagoras had been listened to and understood, humanity's history would have been totally different. The Book of Lieh Tzu is attributed to a 5th-century Chinese mystic. It is not known if Lieh Tzu ever existed, or if the parables attributed to him were written by one person or many.
